Unique Water emerged from research by Dr Russell Beckett into possible ways to delay the ageing process. This research has extended over some 20 years and was based on extensive scientific information and experiments.
From the perspective of caring for your body, it is important to minimise the damaging effects of excess carbon dioxide and acid concentrations in the human body.
 
It is our hypothesis that, with the minimisation of excess carbon dioxide and acid concentrations in the body, the processes involved in cell death are decreased and the ageing process is slowed.

It is also our hypothesis that the introduction of bicarbonate ions into the body and into body cells may help to neutralise acid and carbon dioxide concentrations.
 
Russell Beckett's theoretical and experimental research has resulted in the development of the use of magnesium bicarbonate as a safe way of transporting bicarbonates into the body and into body cells.
 
It is our hypothesis that it is the maintenance of optimal thermodynamic conditions in the body that assists in slowing the ageing process. Failure to maintain optimal thermodynamic conditions leads to failure of cell homeostasis and failure of intracellular concentration gradients. These failures contribute to, if not initiate, cell death and the general processes of ageing.  Unique Water was researched within the best scientific standards of modern mainstream research in a quest to maintain wellbeing and to slow the ageing process.
 
It is a cultural habit that people accept ageing, as an inevitable consequences of life. However, there are no absolute social and biological reasons nor are there any absolute causal necessities for people to grow old.  It is our position that people grow old because of a lack of knowledge in relation to the prevention of ageing. Ageing is not inevitable.
 
Our own life is all we ultimately possess. Indeed, the loss of our life is the greatest loss we can suffer. The maintenance of a well, energetic body and the maintenance of a youthful disposition, demeanor and appearance are common personal and social goals (Why increase human lifespan?)

It is our view that the appropriate consumption of water, which contains magnesium bicarbonate at an alkaline (non-acidic) pH value, helps to minimise the damaging effects of excess carbon dioxide and acid concentrations in the body and hence helps one to maintain a well and energetic life.

Accordingly, Unique Water is a water containing magnesium bicarbonate at an alkaline pH value.

This website contains hypotheses relating to the possible extension of human lifespan. It will take many hundreds of thousands of people and many tens of years to establish if the hypotheses have practical value. All experiments and trials to date certainly strongly support the hypotheses.
